ANDREA ROGGI AT Banca Generali Headquarters | Florence February Autumn 2023

"Aether - Reason is nothing without Imagination" is an exhibition that will be held from 29 March to 25 August 2023 at the headquarters of Banca Generali Private in Florence and that casts a glance downstream at Maestro Roggi's production. Through this project, it is possible to learn about the value that the Tuscan artist's work takes on in relation to the spaces in which
is placed, creating a unique and unrepeatable ecological dialogue.

"Sculpture is an artistic discipline of extreme theoretical complexity because, apart from the practical actions involved in making a work, it has an unpredictable and powerful influence on the places where it is installed. There are emotions, thoughts and suggestions that can only be experienced in a specific context. The work alone cannot do so much. In short, I believe that tackling this theme is not trivial and that it is really worth it,' is Maestro Andrea Roggi's comment.

The exhibition consists of seven large- and medium-format sculptures and thirty art photos by Giacomo Roggi, talented photographer and son of Maestro Andrea Roggi. In addition, the exhibition is accompanied by critical texts by the neuroaesthetologist and director Jacopo Bucciantini.

"My father made me understand the importance of space and dynamics, both through his teachings and his sculptures. I try to convey this knowledge through my works. Indeed, the same sculpture, when seen in different contexts, provokes different feelings, which is why photography is important in this respect. Thanks to it, it is possible to observe the same specimen in different environments and from different angles. Thus the whole bouquet of moods that my father's sculptures convey can emerge,' is the comment of photographer Giacomo Roggi.

This performance takes the form of a journey of discovery of Maestro Roggi's ideas and philosophy, which he managed to make his art from his ideas.

"Andrea Roggi is an artist I often describe as 'philosophical'. When he talks about his works, it is as if he is laying bare his ideas, essentially leaving out the technical aspect in favour of the logos. The deeper one gets to know this sculptor, the more one grasps original and brilliant connections that link all the sculptures together. In fact, one of the aspects I love most about Maestro Roggi is his ability to give access to a true phenomenological universe, i.e. his mind, through sculptural language,' is the comment of neuroaesthetologist Jacopo Bucciantini.

The event, organised by Open One - Modern and Contemporary Art, in collaboration with Associazione Culturale Parco della Creatività, Roggi - The Circle of Life Art Gallery, GR Production and Mr. Bouch, also saw the support and collaboration of Banca Generali Private. Area Manager Wealth Management Antonio Malpeli commented: "We are happy to open the
doors of our prestigious headquarters in Florence to host the works of Maestro Andrea Roggi and offer Florentine citizens new insights from the world of art. Our commitment in favour of the territory wants to go beyond the patrimonial sphere, which is why we are particularly proud to be able to offer all art lovers an exhibition like this one'.
