After the great critical and public success obtained in Veneto and Basilicata, thanks to the artistic performance Terra Mater | Earth and HeavenMaestro Andrea Roggi's sculptures reach Viareggio with an open-air exhibition Res Sacrae | Human and Divinewhich closes the artist's calendar of events for 2022.

The exhibition consists of six monumental sculptures, which stand out against the superb scenery of the Versilia town, and focuses on the sculptor's masterly ability to mould bronze so skilfully that it becomes as dynamic and swirling as running water.

The event, which began on 8 December 2022 and is scheduled to end on 31 March 2023, takes the form of a narrative itinerary along Viareggio's seafront, capable of showing the public Maestro Roggi's philosophy and artistic taste. The artist's works can, in fact, be contemplated at the Terrazza della Repubblica, at Piazza della Repubblica, at Piazza Maria Luisa and, finally, at the Molo La Madonnina.

These sculptures are the cornerstones of a particular aesthetic experience and, even more so, of a profound philosophical reflection on the themes that inspire the artist's work: the love shared by human beings, the relationship between the individual and time, the salvific power of knowledge, as well as the link with one's cultural and family roots. Andrea Roggi, through his intimate tribute to the sacred things (both material and immaterial), intends to communicate the importance of returning to a more intellectually truthful and, perhaps, meditative dimension, within which, emotion and reflection are combined in a balanced way to give space to awareness.

Of particular note are the sculptures dedicated to the theme of the Source of LifeThe realisation of which presents specific and complex practical difficulties that have only been overcome by the author, over time, thanks to intense study and countless consequent experiments. These sculptures, by means of assiduous ingenuity and meticulous labor-limaeThey manage to express all the energy and clarity of water through the power of bronze.

"Perhaps it goes without saying, but I deeply love being able to exhibit in my native Tuscany. I clearly feel that my works are charged with a moving energy when they are in the land that inspired them. Moreover, the bond I maintain with Versilia is long-standing: I spend almost all my free time there, in search of ideas and regeneration, because I know that it is here that I can find that,' is Maestro Roggi's comment.

The event is organised by the Municipality of Viareggio in collaboration with Ravagnan Gallery e Cultural Association Park of Creativity.
